Studying ecology and evolution across the urban landscape.

More than 50% of the human population resides in cities, and this proportion continues to grow. Understanding how interactions between humans and the environment impact ecological and evolutionary processes—and how those processes feed back to the human community—is critical towards understanding how to mitigate impacts of global change on human and natural communities. We are a collaborative group of ecologists, evolutionary biologists, and biogeochemists focused on studying these interactions and impacts in the Greater St. Louis Region.
